Introduction of New Weekly Superfast Express Trains In East Coast Railway

To fulfill passengers’ demand and for the convenience of the passengers and with an aim for clearing passengers’ rush from Visakhapatnam towards Tatanagar and Kollam two weekly express trains, a weekly express train between Visakhapatnam and Tatanagar, via Brahmapur, Bhubaneswar and Kendujhargarh with effect from 05/01/2014 and another weekly express train between Visakhapatnam and Kollam with effect from 30/01/2014 will be introduced which were announced in the last Budget :

Running schedule of the weekly express train from Visakhapatnam to Tatanagar: Train will leave Visakhapatnam at 17.45 hrs. on every Sunday with effect from 05/01/2014. Train will reach at Tatanagar at 104.0 hrs. on the next day (Monday).

Weekly express Train from Tatanagar to Visakhapatnam (via Kendujhargarh, Bhubaneswar and Brahmapur)

Running schedule of the weekly express train from Tatanagar to Visakhapatnam: Train will leave Tatanagar at 13.00 hrs. on every Monday with effect from 06/01/2014. Train will reach at Visakhapatnam at 04.40 hrs. on the next day (Tuesday).

The Train No. 18516 / 18515 Visakhapatnam – Tatanagar - Visakhapatnam weekly express train will stop at the following Stations : Simhachalam, Vizianagaram Jn., Srikakulam Road, Palasa, Sompetra, Ichhapuram, Brahmapur, Chhatrapur, Balugaon, Khurda Road Jn., Bhubaneswar, Mancheswar, Cuttack, Jakhapura, Sukinda Road, Harichandanpur, Kendujhargarh, Nayagarh, Jaroli, Bansapani, Dongoaposi, Chaibasa and Rajkharsawan Jn. stations in both the directions.

Composition of the Train No. 18516 / 18515 Visakhapatnam – Tatanagar – Visakhapatnam weekly express train: One AC – 2 – tier, two AC – 3- tiers, nine Sleeper Classes, six General Second Class and two Guard cum Luggage Vans Coaches.
