2025 Thakurnagar Maha Baruni Mela of Matua and Special Trains

 The traditional Baruni Mela of the Matuas is starting in Thakurnagar from Thursday, March 26. Like every year, the fair committee is expecting a huge turnout of devotees for the holy bath. Therefore, the railways have announced to run special trains for the convenience of devotees to go to the fair. Apart from Bengal, Matua devotees from different states come to attend this fair. According to railway sources, special trains have been started keeping them in mind. The fair will continue for seven days. The railways have announced that a total of 8 local trains and four special mail trains will be run during the fair.

According to railway sources, in addition to eight local trains up to Thakurnagar on the occasion of Baruni Mela, four special mail and express trains will be run from Kathgodam, Lamding, Jagdalpur and Alipur Duar. Four up and four down local trains will run from Thakurnagar to Gede, Lalgol, Canning and Namkhana. According to the schedule, special local trains will leave for Thakurnagar from Gede at 6.45 am, from Lalgola at 4.50 am, from Canning at 6.35 am and from Namkhana at 5 am on Thursday, March 26. On March 27, the trains will leave Thakurnagar at 4.35 pm, 3.45 pm, 5 pm and 4.05 pm respectively.

In terms of express trains, two special trains will depart from Kathgodam at 10 am on March 26 and from Jagdalpur to Thakurnagar at 8 am. Two more special trains will depart from Kesinga at 4.10 pm on March 27.

Southern Railway Christmas Special Trains

 To accommodate the increased travel demand during the Christmas season, South Western Railway has announced special train services between KSR Bengaluru and Dr. MGR Chennai Central. The details of these trains, their schedules, and coach compositions are as follows:

Train No. 07319: KSR Bengaluru – Dr. MGR Chennai Central Special

Departure: Leaves KSR Bengaluru at 08:05 hrs on December 21, 2024 (Saturday).

Arrival: Reaches Dr. MGR Chennai Central at 14:30 hrs the same day.

Service: One-way special service.

Train No. 07320: Dr. MGR Chennai Central – KSR Bengaluru Special

Departure: Leaves Dr. MGR Chennai Central at 15:55 hrs on December 21, 2024 (Saturday).

Arrival: Reaches KSR Bengaluru at 22:50 hrs the same day.

Service: One-way special service.

Coach composition of special train services

These trains will consist of the following: 1 AC Two-Tier Coach, 1 AC Three-Tier Coach, 11 Sleeper Class Coaches, 2 General Second Class Coaches and 2 Divyangjan-Friendly Second Class Coaches.

2024-25 South Western Railway Christmas Special Trains

 South Western Railway Arranges Special Trains From Bengaluru For Christmas and Kumbh MelaThe special trains will consist of one AC Two-Tier Coach, two AC Three-Tier Coaches, nine Sleeper Class Coaches, four General Second-Class Coaches and two SLR/D.

To clear the extra rush of passengers during the Christmas festival, South Western Railway has organised special trains to multiple locations from Bengaluru. SWR will also run a special one-way express train (06215) from Mysuru to Prayagraj to the Kumbh Mela. 

Train No 06507 SMVT Bengaluru-Thiruvananthapuram North Express Special will depart from Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru at 11 pm on December 23 and reach Thiruvananthapuram North at 4.30 pm the next day, according to a press release by SWR. In the return direction, Train No 06508 Thiruvananthapuram North-SMVT Bengaluru Express Special will depart from Thiruvananthapuram North at 5.55 pm on December 24 and arrive at Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru at 11.15 am the next day.

Stoppage: the train will have stoppages at Krishnarajapuram, Bangarapet, Salem, Erode, Tiruppur, Podanur, Palakkad, Thrissur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Chingavanam, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Mavelikara, Kayankulam and Kollam stations in both directions. Special Express trains in each direction between Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru and Kalaburagi stations will depart from Bengaluru at 9.15 pm on December 24 and reach Kalaburagi at 7.40 am the next day.

In the return direction, Train No 06590 Kalaburagi-SMVT Bengaluru Express Special will depart from Kalaburagi at 9:35am on December 23 and 25 and reach Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru at 8 pm on the same day. Stoppage: The train will halt at the following stations in both directions: Yelahanka, Dharmavaram, Anantapur, Guntakal, Adoni, Mantralayam Road, Raichur, Krishna, Yadgir and Shahabad. Train No 06215 Mysuru-Prayagraj One-way Kumbh Express Special will leave Mysuru at 3 am on December 23 and is scheduled to reach Prayagraj jn at 3 am on the respective Wednesday.

Stoppage: the train will stop at the following stations: Mandya, KSR Bengaluru, Yesvantpur, Tumakuru, Arsikere, Kadur, Chikjajur, Davangere, SMM Haveri, SSS Hubballi, Dharwad, Belagavi, Ghatprabha, Miraj, Sangli, Karad, Pune, Daund Chord Line, Ahmadnagar, Manmad, Bhusaval, Khandwa, Talvadya, Chhanera, Khirkiya, Harda, Banapura, Itarsi, Pipariya, Narsinghpur, Jabalpur, Katni, Maihar, Satna and Manikpur.

The special trains will consist of one AC Two-Tier Coach, two AC Three-Tier Coaches, nine Sleeper Class Coaches, four General Second-Class Coaches and two SLR/D.

Train No. 01151: Departs from Mumbai CSMT daily at 00:20 hrs (midnight) from December 20, 2024, to January 5, 2025, reaching Karmali at 13:30 hrs the same day.
Train No. 01152: Departs from Karmali daily at 14:15 hrs from December 20, 2024, to January 5, 2025, arriving at Mumbai CSMT at 03:45 hrs the next day.

Stoppage: Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Kudal, and Thivim.

Composition: Includes AC First Class, AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, Sleeper Class, General Second Class, and luggage vans.

 Lokmanya Tilak Terminus (LTT)-Kochuveli Weekly Special (8 Trips)

Train No. 01463: Departs from LTT every Thursday at 16:00 hrs from December 19, 2024, to January 9, 2025, reaching Kochuveli at 22:45 hrs the next day.

Train No. 01464: Departs from Kochuveli every Saturday at 16:20 hrs from December 21, 2024, to January 11, 2025, arriving at LTT at 00:45 hrs on the third day.

Stoppage: Includes stops at Panvel, Ratnagiri, Madgaon, Karwar, Udupi, Mangaluru Jn, and more.

Composition: Features AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, Sleeper Class, General Second Class, and Generator Vans.

 Pune-Karmali Weekly Special (6 Trips)

Train No. 01407: Departs from Pune every Wednesday at 05:10 hrs from December 25, 2024, to January 8, 2025, reaching Karmali at 20:25 hrs the same day.

Train No. 01408: Departs from Karmali every Wednesday at 22:20 hrs from December 25, 2024, to January 8, 2025, arriving at Pune at 13:00 hrs the next day.

Stoppage: Includes stops at Talegaon, Lonavala, Panvel, Ratnagiri, Sawantwadi Road, and Thivim.

Composition: Includes AC First Class, AC 2-tier, AC 3-tier, Sleeper Class, and General Second Class.

2024-25 Konkan Railway Christmas Special Trains

It has been decided to run following additional special trains to clear the extra rush of passengers during Christmas & Winter season 2024-25. Details are as under.

Train No. 01149 Lokmanya Tilak (T) - Karmali Special (Daily) will leave from Lokmanya Tilak (T) at 15:30 hrs daily from 23/12/2024 to 31/12/2024. Train will reach Karmali at 05:30 hrs on the next day.

Train No. 01150 Karmali - Lokmanya Tilak (T) Special (Daily) will leave from Karmali at 06.45 hrs daily from 24/12/2024 to 01/01/2025. Train will reach Lokmanya Tilak (T) at 22:15 hrs on the same day .

Train will halt at Thane, Panvel, Pen, Roha, Mangaon, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Rajapur Road, Vaibhavwadi Road, Kankavali, Sindhudurg, Kudal, Sawantwadi Road & Thivim station.
